Surface Printing
✔ Ink is applied directly to the top layer of material.

Sub-Surface Printing
✔ Ink is printed on the reverse side of a clear material, viewed through the front.

WHAT ARE SUB-SURFACED LABELS AND HOW ARE THEY MADE?
We start with a clear polycarbonate or polyester. We then print the image on the reverse face of the material, starting with the first colour, followed by any additional colours in sequence, finally working back to the background colour and the application of the adhesive and release paper.
Once the labels are finished and cut to shape, the printed image is then viewed through the substrate on which it is printed. This type of label is therefore very durable, as the image is so well protected by the layer of clear material.

MATERIALS

PVC
Transparent & white rigid PVC film, impact modified. Suitable for UV, digital, screen, flexo and gravure printing. An anti-glare effect and scratch resistance can both be achieved with an embossed surface.

3M™ 300LSE
300LSE Adhesive provides excellent bonding to low surface energy substrates including powder coatings and plastics such as polypropylene (PP). It also has high adhesion to and lightly oiled metals and high surface energy materials, making it suitable for bonding dissimilar substrates. This adhesive also provides excellent holding power and anti-lifting properties
